Realizing Reasons For Laser Tattoo Removal

We have all made mistakes. No one is immune to making a bad decision every now and again. If we're lucky, our poor decision-making skills won't haunt us for life. If we're unlucky, our bad choices will remain with us for a long time. In the case of tattoos, the latter is pretty much the case. That is, of course, unless you decide to go for laser tattoo removal.

Although getting tattoos is a trend that will likely last for all time, removing them has pretty much become just as popular. This is because most people who get tattoos admit to having made decision at younger ages that they now regret. Laser Tattoo Removal is a safe and effective way to remove tattoos without scarring your skin. This is done through the use of a Q-switched laser. And there is more than one type.
The Alexandrite Laser is used for the removal of multi-coloured tattoos. These are generally harder to remove than standard black tattoos. This high-powered laser also is effective in the removal of benign epidermal and dermal pigmented lesions. Don't be alarmed, the “high-power” simply refers to the use of more clearly defined energy.

This helps to limit damage to surrounding tissues while effectively fragmenting targeted pigment and tattoo particles. The Alexandrite Laser uses “ultra-short pulses” which deliver high peak power. This not only greatly helps to remove tattoos but also leaves patients with a lot less complications and side-effects.

The Nd:Yag Q-switched Laser is generally used to breakdown birthmarks, brown spots and black tattoos. It too, targets pigmented cells to damage them so that the body can naturally remove them and replace them with non-pigmented skin. Recovery time is quite short with mild scabbing and blistering usually being part of the healing process.

But what reasons are there to remove your tattoos? In my last blog, I went over the fact that as times change, so do fashion trends. Tattoos, in many ways, are fashion statements. We change our clothes regularly. But a tattoo is meant to be forever. If your tattoo suddenly becomes “out of style”, it's not as easy to remove as your clothing. There are, however, other reasons to remove tattoos than just a change in fashion sense.

Getting a job can become much easier when you don't have to worry about covering your tattoos with your clothing during your job interview. In some working environments, tattoos may be frowned upon – especially if they give off an inaccurate impression of your character. How about going to formal events? I must say, elegant dresses and tattoos don't usually mix all that well.

Of course, there are tons of other reasons out there, and perhaps you have a few of your own. No matter what your reason for wanting to remove your tattoo is, just know that help is available to you.
